LUNCH

KIKIS $$

On the idyllic turquoise cove of Ag. Sostis beach is Kiki’s Tavern, a simple thatched terrace that has become one of the best restaurants in Mykonos among tourists and locals. The no-frills beach shack is without any modern technology – there’s no electricity, no Wi-Fi, no telephone. And it’s exactly this which makes it so special. Everything is done on the hot coals, except an array of exceptional salads that are available at a small counter inside. Expect fresh fish, octopus and probably the best pork chop of your life. But given its analog operational system, be prepared to wait. Legend has it even Kim and Kanye had to line up

DINNER

NOEMA $$$$

Nōema is the Greek word for “meaning” or “substance”—how does that relate to what the restaurant is trying to achieve? Everyone has a different idea of what “meaningful” is. Understanding the stories behind a meal along with the cultural importance or the purpose of an ingredient can help elevate and shape an evening out. Nōema tells a story—through the food, the staff, and the actual space.

SCORPIOS $$$$

Say ‘Mykonos’ to anyone and Scorpios will likely follow, the bohemian beach bar now synonymous with the island. Reimagining an ancient Greek agora, the hybrid space in organic, sepia-only tones sits high above Paraga beach and serves as both a bar and restaurant to well-heeled holidayers. And while its party-going reputation precedes it, the food is fantastic. Wood-fired tiger prawns and seafood ceviche with chilli, coriander and green olive oil arrive on large wooden paddles, reflecting its commitment to fresh, local produce. One of the best restaurants in Mykonos for peacocking and people watching.

SPILIA $$$$

One of the most famous restaurants on the island, Spilia’s envious and unique seaside position makes it a rite of passage for any visitor. Meaning “cave” in Greek, Spilia is exactly this: a rocky cavern that quite literally hangs over the sea — you even need to traipse across unstable ground just to reach it. But that doesn’t stop every stiletto-wielding glamazon from enjoying its iconic (and very Instagrammable) location (which makes it one of the best restaurants in Mykonos) over luminous Kalafati beach, along with its Lobster Pasta and an array of fresh oysters, mussels, urchins and crayfish that are plucked straight from a small natural sea pool on-site and prepared before your eyes. Expect table dancing when the rosé kicks in and a very big bill at the end of the day (or night).

KATRIN $$$

Over 50 years ago, the Giziotis family opened a small tavern in the still-quiet Chora of Mykonos. They named it Katerin in homage to the family’s matriarch. Who could have imagined that the former everyday haven would become one of the island’s institutions? Recently Katrin relocated to a pebbled street near the adorable Byzantine Panachra Church and its red-painted roof. During the long starry summer evenings, the waiters hectically bustle up and down the stairs between the cosy open-air courtyards.

JIMMYS $

You can’t come to Greece without eating a Gyros. All the glitz & glamour aside Jimmy’s is a bucket list stop when you visit Mykonos. Situated in Chora their Gyros is a perfect snack for walking around town or a late night snack on your way home. Dont forget to order extra tzatziki

KASTROS $$

Contemporary Greek and Mediterranean cuisine in an 18th-century building in the heart of Little Venice. Fresh and excellent seafood is the star here, in a menu that also includes roasted meats, pastas, salads, and traditional Myconian favorites. Cocktails here are superb, especially when sipped on a colorful balcony over the Aegean, with a sunset view to the iconic windmills. Reservations highly recommended.

TO MAEREIO $$

This hole-in-the-wall in Mykonos town is one of the few understated, local venues left on the island. But what it lacks in size, it makes up for in flavour making it one of the best restaurants in Mykonos. Specialising in traditional Mykonian food, the tiny, no-frills tavern is run by twin brothers, with their mum, Asemina, working the kitchen. Perfect homestyle cooking at reasonable prices – it’s a Mykonian miracle.

BARS

REMEZZO

A jet-set hangout since the ’60s, Remezzo feels a little more refined than the average Cycladic taverna, with food to match. Even simple entrées are elaborately plated and colorful, like raw vegetable carpaccio with honey and citrus vinaigrette and roasted scallops with Aegean salt, sweet artichoke mousse, and Greek truffle. And the house rosé is great, which means you don’t have to spend a fortune on wine.

180 SUNSET BAR

Castle Panigirakis, a restored fortification high above Mykonos Town, is home to a delightfully characteristic hotel, and its alfresco terrace bar comes with one of the finest views in the whole island, a widescreen aspect over the fishing boats and yachts of the port and sea to neighbouring Rineia and Delos. It’s particularly picturesque at nightfall, when the sun sends a golden-orange streak across the waves and the lights of the whitewashed town begin to glow. The spacious bar has great cocktails, with seats and sofas dotted among its ancient architectural features, meaning you’ll want to stay for more than just the panorama.

ASTRA

On the highly pedestrian Matoyianni street , ASTRA is the place to visit if you want to taste how the nightlife felt when Mykonos was favorite meeting point of the world΄s rich and famous . Indeed , ASTRA is perhaps the only party institution in modern Mykonos that retains the feeling and the atmosphere of the romantic 60΄s and the glittering 70΄s . Designed and build by Minas , a world renowned artist who himself adores the bright light and simple lines of the Cyclades islands , ASTRA  strikes you with its red bougainvilleas growing against white than whiter  walls , the Aegean -blue painted shutters , the simple yet elegant interior and the ceiling resembles  which resembles the celestial dome of an Observatory
